Vancouver, BC | Hybrid | Up to $200,000

A well-established and growing law firm in Vancouver, BC is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its team on a hybrid basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Lawyer looking to take on sophisticated matters, work directly with clients, and continue developing their practice within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Compensation can reach up to $200,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will advise employers and/or employees on a broad range of employment and workplace law matters.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, manage files independently, provide practical legal advice, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm's Employment Law practice.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.

Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on a broad range of employment and workplace law matters.
Advise employers and employees on employment agreements, terminations, workplace policies, and employment standards.
Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, workplace policies, and related documentation.
Advise on wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, termination, and severance matters.
Represent clients in employment disputes, negotiations, mediations, and litigation.
Conduct legal research and provide practical advice on employment legislation and case law.
Advise clients regarding workplace investigations, accommodation, human rights, and workplace issues.
Manage employment law files from initial consultation through resolution.
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other professionals.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Monitor deadlines and manage multiple matters efficiently.
Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Employment Law practice.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience practicing Employment Law, with compensation commensurate with experience.
Experience advising employers and/or employees on a broad range of employment matters.
Strong knowledge of British Columbia employment law.
Experience with employment agreements, terminations, severance, wrongful dismissal, and workplace disputes.
Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and legal research skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong client-service and relationship-management skills.
Ability to independently manage files and competing deadlines.
Strong business judgment and practical problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
Must be called to the British Columbia Bar and in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.

Compensation

Up to $200,000

The salary for this position can reach $200,000, depending on years of experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and overall fit.
